Description
Children intuitively (or “naturally”) learn language through speaking and sound. That doesn’t necessarily mean they understand what a word is or how they build their own sentences.
This resource marks the first step to “breaking down” whole sentences into smaller pieces. Words come first, of course. After this resource, you can continue by building syllable awareness, and eventually phonemes (the individual sounds when speaking).
All of this is necessary to build a strong foundation for jumping into actual alphabet letters ("graphemes") when Level 2 comes around. Always remember: counting words seems very basic to any adult, but is a new and challenging skill for those who just entered our beautiful world.
As always, we start as simple as possible, then ramp up the difficulty over time. As usual, we recommend moving to different Factions whenever you feel ready, and we’d especially recommend reading the fairy tales (from Explorers) or trying the Quizzes (from Quizmasters).
