Common Charms
Below are the common Charms (types of products) you’ll find in this Faction. Visit their pages for details about what they are and what is inside once purchased.
For whom are these materials intended?
Anyone can use them, of course. Education and fun activities are not bound to age or classroom.
They are, however, mainly used by teachers and parents. We try to follow established curriculae closely and make our teaching material as complete, effective and creative as possible.
That said, no single approach or textbook can ever be 100% effective for everyone every time. We do things our way, a bit more magical and freeform than most. Try our methods, then try the material made by someone else, and then someone else again. That’s how you offer your Apprentices a variety of experiences and explanations, and are sure to find something that clicks with them.
That’s the best way to get a deep understanding of a broad range of topics and skills.
Can I customize these?
Most of these resources are PDFs to be printed. This gives you two ways to customize them to your liking.
- Either use a PDF reader/editor to change the original files.
- Or modify them after printing. (Cutting out parts, writing over other parts, leaving parts out entirely, etcetera.)
In the future, we might publish the source illustrations and documents that created the PDFs in Sneakpeeks. We’re still looking for the best way to use that Faction and streamline that process.
How am I allowed to use these materials?
However you like! Share them with an entire class. Prepare one as a surprise gift. Customize it for your kid.
You don’t need a special license or permission for anything. You bought the experience—it’s yours to experience it as you wish.
Who are you and why do you create these?
As stated at my other educational projects, I’ve been a huge fan of learning since I was born. When I was just 7 years old, I was already researching how humans actually learn, reading studies about our brain, memory, problem solving, creativity, and more. (That’s how I could teach myself all the skills needed for developing this webshop, for example!)
Unfortunately, to say our educational systems fall short would be a massive understatement. They do the exact opposite of what science suggests. They ruin learning until every kid believes being smart is supposed to be stupid, hard, and not for them.
I create these materials based on my understanding of how learning actually works. How to make it fun and effective. How to actually achieve something, without treating children like obedient little workers. Hopefully these educational materials and activities can enlighten and satisfy many children—or adults!—around the world.
And I hope that, after you’ve found these materials and used them, you might be encouraged to try materials from the next Faction. Try a Quiz instead. A puzzle. An educational game. The products in Teachers are a stepping stone, a first introduction, guiding you towards the places where learning actually happens.
