This escape room could be used as “a child’s first escape room”, although it’s not the simplest one we made. It is themed around Easter, and most of all around eggs. All puzzles and clues are put on little “egg booklets” with unique patterns. This requires some 10 minutes of cutting to prepare, but allows very creative and surprising puzzles along the way …
This is not an “egg hunt”, at least not in the common sense of the word. It’s a standalone escape room, where each puzzle leads to the next, until players have unlocked all eggs. You can, of course, attach your own reward to this! (Such as giving every player a real chocolate egg when unlocking the next one.) If you want an actual scavenger hunt that you can customize, check out our Egg Hunt Template.
The escape room will usually take about 1 hour. You don’t need a lot of space, though you do need to print in color (for the unique egg patterns to be recognizable). As usual, the challenge here is to think out of the box. All material matters. Older puzzles might become important again. Every puzzle has a really simple solution, but you won’t find it by just “trying all options” or “stumbling on the solution”.
That’s the difference between an “escape room” and just puzzles: it’s a collection of creative, linked puzzles that you can solve together.
