Colorcross is a digital puzzle game teaching colors, logical problem solving, and spatial reasoning.
On the easiest difficulty,
- You get a tiny grid (3 by 3 squares).
- Each turn (or “move”), the game gives you a color.
- Tap any square to change all squares in its row and column to that color! (Hence the name: Colorcross.)
- Whenever a treasure is the same color as its square, it’s collected!
It contains 5 difficulty levels. Later difficulties have larger grids. Most of all, they add the mixing rule: if a square was already colored before, then it mixes with the new color. This opens up loads of opportunities for interesting puzzles (with secondary and tertiary colors).
As expected, the game has no text, numbers, or complex actions. Just tap one square on each turn. Thanks to these clever rules, though, it is an actual puzzle that will even challenge older kids and adults!
Whenever you match a color, a narrator will also say the word to reinforce it. The game contains an interactive tutorial and helpers to remind you of what mixing colors will do, all of which can be turned off in the settings. The game contains infinite puzzles and you can retry/undo easily without penalty.
