Shapefruit is a spatial grouping and (area) division puzzle. It can be played physically, by cutting out all the shapes and placing them on the puzzle. It can also be played by simply drawing the shapes around the fruit.
Each puzzle shows some fruit and the shape that they want around them. The shapes used are small and simple, such as “2 squares in a row” or a “corner”. You must place that shape such that it contains the fruit somewhere … but also such that no shapes overlap and the whole puzzle ends up covered.
Those simple rules already create a plethora of nice and colorful puzzles. Later difficulties, though, add more nice twists, such as hiding the shape that each fruit wants (you must figure out the only shape that works!).
