The Sort Stork has an important job. They live in the cloud palace and have to sort all the letters and packages coming in. Important letters for kings, of course. Even more important love letters. And once in a while, an urgent package that contains a baby to be delivered.
But the villainous Chaos Cat works against them, because they don’t want a specific letter to be delivered. Follow the Sort Stork as they sort and group letters in all sorts of ways, trying to do their work despite the chaos!
This story is split into 10 chapters. Each chapter is written to be as standalone as possible, so you can read one short chapter to your Apprentice(s) at a time. See it as many short stories combined into one bundle, with an overarching thread that connects them.
It explores the idea of logically grouping items, which—combined with the previous resources on comparing—allows sorting as well. This isn’t just a nice skill to have for games or jobs, but an essential logical skill to finetune. All day, every day, we’re constantly making good decisions and logical snap judgements because we were able to see patterns (“group alike things”) and set priorities (“this task is more important than that task”).
That’s why we wanted to devote a unique fairy tale to this concept, practicing the skill and showing ways to apply it in practice.
