Video Games are games played on an electronic device. They are usually meant for a single player. You can play them with keyboard, mouse, controller, and sometimes touch.
Why would I be interested?
- Video games are far more instantly appealing to most people than, say, board games or books. They look pretty, they have moving parts, they have sounds; it’s just easier to be engaged and try one.
- Video games take away all the setup that otherwise you would have to do. No need to learn rules, or deal cards, or prepare a lesson plan. The game performs the busywork behind the scenes, and players can just play.
- This makes them a very quick and engaging tool for educational purposes too. Children love to play video games and won’t realize they are learning skills and problem solving.
Why would I not be interested?
- If you want games to be a social experience, shared by multiple people at once.
- If you don’t want to give your children too much screen exposure.
- If you don’t believe video games can be educational or productive.
How is the product delivered?
You always get a ZIP file. When extracted, it contains,
- Folders for the different operating systems.
- Find yours and double-click the file inside to play.
Arcane Addendum
This store is set up to eschew digital tools as much as possible. It’s been proven time and time again that sitting alone behind screens is not good for anyone, but especially not good for children and their development. Board games are better in almost all ways.
As such, typical video games as described here will be rare. They will only appear when we have very good reason to make one. Instead, if we make a game, it’s more likely to be a One Button Game that softens most issues with video games.
Oh no! Something broke!
We’re sorry! It’s hard to make sure video games work on all devices, forever, in all situations. It’s also very hard to “patch” them from here, especially because our digital tools have no internet connection leading back to us (on purpose).
In most cases, we just can’t diagnose the problem here and can’t spend the resources to find the mysterious problem. So we don’t make any promises or guarantees; in rare situations, a video game of ours just might not work on your system.
But don’t worry, you can always contact us! Try to give screenshots/descriptions of the problem and we might recognize the problem instantly. If not, we might offer a different game for free.
