Trivia Kits are quiz experiences with a question-answer format. Most such experiences support any number of players (possibly in groups) and will take on average 1 hour.
We created a system that is able to provide any quiz both digitally and physically, so you can play any way you like.
A quiz about knowledge is always educational, of course. But some of our quizzes are clearly focused on a specific school subject, while others are clearly focused on a general theme or event.
Why would I be interested?
Below are some of the biggest advantages of quizzes (or “trivia experiences”).
- It’s simple. No rules to learn beforehand, nothing to prepare. Just sit down and try to figure out the questions.
- It supports any group size.
- It’s inherently educational and it feels rewarding to know answers and get them correct.
- You can customize it easily. It’s taking too long? Leave out the final round. People are struggling? Reveal built-in hints.
- You can play both digitally and physically. With quizzes, both methods work equally well, and even a hybrid method (such as showing questions on-screen, but checking answers manually) works fine.
- Our quizzes, like most, try to balance all the different ways in which you could look at a topic. This creates a variety of questions and rounds and ensures that there are some knowable/interesting questions for every player.
Why would I not be interested?
Below are some of the common disadvantages of quizzes.
- They offer no interactivity. It’s just about writing down (or shouting) answers to questions.
- This also makes them somewhat repetitive. We try to shake it up, of course, but at the end of the day it’s just 50 questions with answers you have to know.
- It’s tempting to rush through the answer phase, which means little learning is happening. In that case, a quiz is just a “test”. You can make it a learning experience if you actually spend more time when checking the answers and making sure everyone remembers/understands what was right.
- Related to the previous point, it can be frustrating or discouraging if the quiz has the wrong difficulty. If you simply don’t know any of the answers—or, conversely, if all answers are obvious to you and not challenging.
How is the product delivered?
We’ve created our own custom and powerful quiz system! This allows us to sell a single quiz that can be played in many ways, including both digitally and physically.
- Digital: You get a “file” (
index.html) to open/execute in any browser. The quiz happens on a screen, looks fancy, and allows more possibilities (such as video questions). Nobody knows the answers beforehand; answers can be checked digitally too. - Physical: You get several PDF files (in
pdfsfolder) that you can print (or play as a slideshow). This includes both the quiz as well as dedicated answer forms and answer sheets (tailored to that specific quiz).
This also means that you get all the individual source files that went into the quiz. This allows you to customize/copy/use it however you want. (Or just see the magic that goes on behind the scenes if that interests you!)
Practically all our quizzes are able to fit in this format. In the rare cases it doesn’t, the product is placed in a different Charm called Quiz Adventure.
Oh no! Something broke!
Technology keeps advancing, and everyone has different devices, so it could happen that the digital version of a quiz you bought doesn’t work (as intended).
The best thing to do, is to download the latest pq-trivia.min.js file from the freely available trivia system repository. Replace your version with the latest version, and it usually does the job.
If that doesn’t work, contact us! Try to give screenshots/description of the problem, and we’ll usually know immediately what’s going on. That’s the advantage of using a system you built for the full 100%.
You searched for all products with property “Charm” set to “Trivia Kit”. (This property marks the specific type of product. Example: Digital Escape Room.)
